How to Set Up MobileBiz Pro on a New Phone

Getting a new phone? Here's how to move MobileBiz Pro and all your data over — invoices, customers, items, settings, and everything else.

What You'll Need

Before you start: Make sure you have a recent backup. If your old phone is still accessible, create a fresh backup now before switching. See How to Enable Auto-Backup if you haven't set this up.

Steps

On Your New Phone

  1. Install MobileBiz Pro from the Google Play Store. Sign in with the same Google account you used on your old device.

  2. Open the app — you'll see an empty company with no data. That's expected.

  3. Open the side menu and tap Manage Data.

  4. Tap Backup & Restore, then choose the tab matching where your backup is stored:

    • Dropbox — if you backed up to Dropbox on your old phone
    • Google Drive — if you used Google Drive backup
    • Device — if you transferred the backup file manually

  5. Connect your account if prompted (Dropbox or Google), then tap the restore button.

  6. Select your backup file from the list — pick the most recent one.

  7. Tap Restore and confirm. The app restores your data and restarts.

After Restoring

  1. Verify your data — check that your customers, items, and recent invoices are all there.

  2. Re-upload your company logo — logo image files aren't included in the backup. Go to Settings > Company logo and re-select your logo file. See Why Is My Logo Not Showing on Invoices? for details.

  3. Restore your Plus subscription (if applicable) — open the subscription screen and tap Restore to reactivate your plan.

Good to Know

  • Your database backup contains all invoices, customers, products, settings, and templates — everything except image files (logos, photos stored locally).
  • If you used Dropbox auto-backup on your old phone, the most recent backup is waiting for you automatically.
  • If your old phone is gone and you never set up backups, contact support — we may be able to help.
